Challah Bread is a special Jewish braided bread that usually contains no dairy ingredients. The bread is used during traditional Friday mealtime blessing ceremonies. It is usually consumed on Saturday (Shabbat) and all the other Jewish Holidays, except Passover, when leavened bread is forbidden.
This type of bread is mainly produced in the United States and is quite popular on the eastern seaboard. One of the most famous and largest producers of Challah Bread is Zomick's Kosher Bakery.
