The Gorgon is any of three snake-haired sisters in Greek mythology whose appearance turns the beholder to stone.

Behavior[]

Gorgon attacking knight

A gorgon shooting a stone magic into a knight.

In Scribblenauts, the gorgon shoots a projectile that turns her target grey and causes them to be unable to move for a short period of time. She was hostile, but didn't attack objects while they were petrified. When staring a mirror she will become a statue.

In Super Scribblenauts, she won't shoot a projectile, instead she will give the petrified adjective upon staring her victim. This doesn't affect Maxwell, but she is still hostile towards him. When staring a mirror she will get the pretified adjective instead of turning into a statue. In all games she drops a Medusa head upon defeat.

Medusa green glow

Medusa's eyes glowing green when petrifying a man.

When the gorgon is wielding the blind adjective or wearing a blindfold, she won't be able to petrify other objects. If you give an adjective like farsighted or omniscient, she will be able to petrify farther.

In Scribblenauts Unmasked, she will play an electric sound effect, her eyes will glow green and she will shoot green projectile. The projectile does nothing, it just shows which object she is petrifying.

Trivia[]

Glitches[]

  • Using an Elixir of Life, "resurrective elemental," or anesthesia can cause a petrified object to come alive, but they can only float if they fly and show emotion. An aggressive object will have a different attack animation.
  • If you put an animal (ape works best) and drag it before it turns to stone, it will be petrified without the texture.
  • Using a freeze ray on an object after it has been petrified, then heating it up will cause it to become the normal object after heating it. Any adjectives that were on the object will also become erased.
